The Schirmis – Who are they anyway?

The Schirmis: The Travelling Family in their Vintage Motorhome

We are the Schirmis: Anne, Henrik, our two sons Anton and Edgar, our dog Janis, and our cat Jimi.

Since 1 April 2024, we've been living permanently in our vintage motorhome and travelling through Europe. As a travelling family, we've consciously chosen more time together, freedom and adventure. Instead of the daily grind and fixed routines, we spend our days on the road, discovering new places and learning together as a family.

We've deregistered from Germany, are living as a free-learning family, and want to consciously shape the precious time with our children. Our travel blog documents our experiences, challenges, and special moments on our journey.

Our motorhome – a home on four wheels

Since 1 April 2024, our 1987 Iveco Daily I, fitted with a Niesmann & Bischoff Clou 670 conversion, has been our home.

Through numerous alterations and modernisations, we have adapted the classic car to suit our needs. These include, amongst other things, a dry-separation toilet, new electrical systems, modern refrigeration technology, new upholstery and many personalised details and nautical decorations.

Today our motorhome is far more than a vehicle – it's our home, our office, and the starting point for all the Schirmis' adventures.
